Fan Fair 99 was busy one for Whisperin' Bill. He kicked off the event by playing softball at the annual City of Hope softball game. Being the sports fan that he his, it is always a treat for him to play at such a great charity event.

Bill also spent the week visiting with the fans at his booth as well as the TNN,  Music City News and Grand Ole Opry Booths.

He made sure to squeeze in time for friends as well. Bill dropped in on Mark Wills as he celebrated his platinum success of his album "Wish you Were Here".

One of his favorite parts of Fan Fair is visiting with his Fan club members. Bill's Fan club party was held again at the Hermitage House. Over 200 fan club members were there to catch up with Bill and Jean Brown, the fan club president. Bill and Jean always have some nice surprises in store for the members.

This year Bill invited some old and new acts to the party.  Atlantic Recording artist Matt King was so excited to be asked by Bill that he made sure to drop by before his own fan club party to sing a few songs. Bill even surprised Matt with the news that his song was #1 that day at a local radio station's top five list. Matt was thrilled to hear the news!

Bill also had some very special friends there. The legendary Kitty Wells and Johnny Wright sat at the head table with Bill and his family. Later that night Bill came up to the mike and did a few numbers with them.  He also had Jan Howard, Moore & Moore,  and a special guest, Les Singer's daughter come up and do some tunes. The night ended on a glorious note with a gospel song sung by Kitty Wells.

Bill also performed in the wee hours of the night for the Superstar spectacular held at the Grand Ole Opry House on Wednesday. Bill stayed so busy during Fan Fair week it was hard to keep up with him. When asked what was his favorite part, he couldn't say, but he did say he couldn't wait till next year!
